We establish an equitable society through constructive engagement with stakeholders, expand opportunities for self-development and realization among the youths, poor, minorities and vulnerable population.
By focusing on these thematic areas, we take a comprehensive approach
to address the multifaceted challenges of poverty. Together, we can make a significant impact,
create sustainable change, and uplift individuals and communities towards a brighter future.
As we commemorate International Youth Day in Zambia, AYGF is proud to highlight our commitment to empowering the next generation in the digital era. In a rapidly changing world, where technology shapes nearly every aspect of our lives, young people must be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive.
Zambia’s youth, representing the heartbeat of the Nation are poised to lead the country into a future driven by innovation and digital transformation. With the theme “Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future,” this year’s International Youth Day reminds us of the need to integrate digital literacy and skills into youth development programs.
At AYGF Zambia, we believe digital literacy is not just a skill—it’s a gateway to opportunity. By providing access to technology, training, and resources, we aim to bridge the digital divide and ensure that every young person has the chance to succeed in the digital economy. As the digital landscape evolves, the voices of young people must be included in policy discussions using these various initiatives:
Digital Skills Training: Offer workshops and courses that equip youth with essential digital skills, from basic computer literacy to advanced coding and data analysis.
Entrepreneurship Support: Through various youth-led programs, young entrepreneurs can be encouraged to leverage technology to create innovative solutions and start their businesses.
Mentorship and Networking: Young people should be connected with industry professionals who can guide them on their digital journeys, providing insights, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
Access to Technology: Stakeholders can work together to ensure that underserved communities have access to the tools and technologies needed to participate in the digital world.
In today’s digital age, mastering technology is vital for personal and professional success. By empowering youth with these skills, we confidently bolster their prospects and make a lasting impact on Zambia’s broader development. A digitally literate youth population is better prepared to drive economic growth, spark innovation, and tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
As we celebrate the 2024 International Youth Day, we call on all stakeholders—government, private sector, civil society, and communities—to join us in investing in the digital future of Zambia’s youth. Together, we can create a generation of empowered, tech-savvy leaders ready to shape a sustainable and prosperous future for all.
