AYGF Advances Learning, Collaboration, and Impact at the SPRiNG Annual Learning & Adaptation Event

Abuja, Nigeria — The Africa Youth Growth Foundation (AYGF) recently participated in the Nigeria SPRiNG Annual Learning & Adaptation Event in Abuja. This strategic convening was designed to assess progress, strengthen collaborative efforts, and drive adaptive solutions for sustainable community impact across the nation.

Setting the Stage for Innovation and Accountability

The event featured a compelling keynote address by Richard Montgomery, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, representing the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). His remarks set a powerful tone for the convening, sparking thoughtful dialogues around progress, partnership, accountability, and innovation within the broader SPRiNG programme framework.

AYGF’s Role: Reflecting, Sharing, and Adapting

As a proud implementing partner under the Nigeria SPRiNG Programme, AYGF leveraged this vital platform to assess our ongoing impact and refine our strategies. During the event, our team focused on:

  • Reflecting on Measurable Progress: Evaluating the tangible outcomes achieved across our various project locations.
  • Sharing Field-Based Lessons: Bringing insights from direct community engagement to the broader development conversation.
  • Strengthening Adaptive Programming: Refining our strategies to better respond to evolving on-the-ground realities.
  • Aligning Implementation Efforts: Ensuring our initiatives seamlessly support broader national development priorities.

The Power of Multi-Sector Collaboration

The convening successfully brought together a diverse group of critical stakeholders, including representatives from key government ministries and agencies such as the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, and the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution. They were joined by other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and prominent development stakeholders.

For AYGF, the Annual Learning & Adaptation Event reaffirmed a core organizational belief: collaboration is essential when addressing complex development challenges. This is particularly true in fragile and climate-affected communities where issues of governance, livelihoods, and social cohesion deeply intersect.

A Commitment to Continuous Learning

By prioritizing continuous learning and adaptation, AYGF continuously strengthens its capacity to deliver interventions that are:

  • Evidence-driven: Rooted in data and proven methodologies.
  • Conflict-sensitive: Designed to navigate and mitigate local tensions safely.
  • Climate-responsive: Mindful of environmental impacts and sustainability.
  • Community-owned: Empowering local populations to lead and sustain progress.

Our active participation in the SPRiNG event reflects our broader commitment to improving systemic structures, amplifying local voices, and ensuring that development investments translate into tangible, lasting impact for vulnerable populations.

Gratitude to Our Partners

AYGF remains deeply grateful for the continued support and collaborative spirit of our partners: the UK in Nigeria, Tetra Tech International Development, Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD West Africa), Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD Centre), Nextier, and ActionAid Nigeria.

Together, we are doing more than just implementing projects—we are strengthening institutions, deepening community resilience, and contributing to a development ecosystem that prioritizes peace, inclusion, and sustainability.

At AYGF, learning is not simply an event; it is a continuous process that shapes exactly how we design, deliver, and scale impact across Nigeria’s dynamic development and humanitarian landscape.
