In the bustling airwaves of 92.3 ITV/Radio, a powerful message on Malaria prevention and elimination is resonating with millions of Edo residents daily. The SMEP jingle, strategically aired during two of the station’s most popular shows, Man Around Town and Rush Hour, has become more than just a catchy jingle. It’s a movement.
Broadcast during peak listening hours between 7:30AM to 10:30AM on Man Around Town and 4:00PM to 6:00PM on Rush Hour draw in a loyal and engaged audience. These shows are known for their vibrant energy, hot topics of societal affairs, and strong community connection making them the perfect platform for SMEP’s messaging.
With an estimated daily listenership of 2, 750,043 individuals, the jingle reaches across all 18 Local Government Areas in Edo State and spills into neighboring states, Ondo and Osun, with target audiences including market women, commuters, professionals, entrepreneurs, students, etc.
The Support to Malaria Elimination Project is a comprehensive public health intervention designed to improve access to free malaria testing and treatment. It also seeks to strengthen community awareness and encourage behavioral change that supports long-term malaria control and elimination.
AYGF is a regional non- governmental organization established in April, 2003 but registered in July, 2006 with the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja, Nigeria. AYGF has operational base in USA, Canada, Zambia, and Nigeria. Over the years, the organization has implemented several projects that address issues around, Migration, Public Health, Education, Governance, Livelihood, Environment and Climate Change, Humanitarian and Emergency Support, and Food and Nutrition security.
This jingle campaign is a call to action for all residents of Edo State: protect your families, visit your nearest health center, and join the movement to kick malaria out of our communities.
